The Hygienic dress is created for the first time in 2011. This dress is a sculpture created from 1800 tampons assembled.
The visual of a dress but the creative process and the realization of a sculpture, Nans Lombard proposes the idea that it can be worn as à garment.
Representative of the evolution of the place of art in our societies, NL present this sculpture with an almost sexual simulation for customers and collectors exacerbating deep controversy of the relationship between the luxury industry with the world of art.
The line is fluid, simple. The savoir-faire of the house of NL is unique and the mastery of craft exceptional. It's in movement, too, that the incredible layering of tampons really comes to the fore.
It's a collection focused on intimacy and femininity, on the link that unites woman and artist. In contemporary art, each pieces is unique. As is each woman who wears it. And this is exactly what Nans Lombard was aiming for.
